North Cyprus citizens traveling directly from Ercan International Airport or the seaports of Famagusta, Gemikona, or Kyrenia do not require a visa to enter Turkey. The Republic of Cyprus citizens can now submit their Turkish e-Visa applications online without visiting an embassy or consulate.  An accepted visa to Turkey for Greek Cypriot citizens gives them a 30-day stay in Turkey and is typically valid for three months from the approval date.

Turkey Entry Requirements for Greek Cypriot Citizens

The Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974 resulted in the division of the island into separate regions, with a UN Buffer Zone separating the Greek Cypriot Administration from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Turkey has specific visa policies for each sovereign base.

Travelers from the Greek Cypriot community need to obtain a visa before entering Turkey. Turkish E-Visa is available for Greek Cypriot nationals traveling on regular or official passports. They can apply online through the Apply Turkey e-Visa form from Cyprus page to obtain the necessary travel authorization prior to their trip. Visitors from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus do not require an entry visa.

Turkey has different visa rules for specific nationalities, with only a limited number of countries eligible for multiple-entry visas.

Greek Cypriots will receive a single-entry permit within 30 days, allowing them to obtain the necessary travel documents before their vacation. Cyprus is one of the few countries that can obtain a visa upon arrival. Greek Cypriots have 180 days to travel to Turkey using the travel document.

Turkish E-visa Policy For Greek Cypriots Citizens

Greek Cypriots can apply for the Turkish e-Visa, provided they meet the following conditions:

• The e-Visa system is available for Cypriots visiting Turkey for tourism or business activities such as e-commerce, training, conferences, or seminars.
• Those applying for an employment visa, permanent visa, or educational visa still need to visit an Honorary Consulate or the nearest embassy as advised by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• Cypriot applicants should complete the e-Visa application at least five hours before their scheduled flight to Turkey.
• A valid official or ordinary passport is required, with a minimum validity of six months starting from the day of entry into Turkey.
• Applicants should carefully review and ensure that the information provided in the application form matches the details in their passport and supporting documents.
• The Turkish e-Visa system does not require Cypriot applicants to submit supporting documents such as hotel accommodation, proof of financial capacity, return ticket, or travel insurance during the registration process.
• The email address provided during registration will be verified, and updates regarding the application will be sent to the same email address.
• The visa fee is the responsibility of the applicant, and the amount may vary depending on the urgency of the application. Payment options will be available after verification. Successful payment will trigger the system to send a confirmation email.
