The implementation of the Electronic Turkey Visa aims to simplify the process of obtaining visas online for visitors. The Turkey e-Visa program was introduced in 2013 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.

For citizens of Bhutan, it is mandatory to apply for a Turkey e-Visa (Turkey Visa Online) when visiting Turkey for tourism, business, transit, or medical purposes. Obtaining a Turkey Visa from Bhutan is not optional but a mandatory requirement for all Bhutanese citizens planning short stays in the country. The passport of the Turkey e-Visa holder must remain valid for at least 6 months beyond the departure date, which is the date when they leave Turkey.

Turkey Entry Requirements for Citizens of Bhutan

Bhutanese citizens planning to enter Turkey must possess a valid travel document or passport to apply for a Turkey e-Visa. It is important for individuals with multiple nationalities to apply with the same passport they intend to use for travel. The e-Visa will be associated with the specified passport during the application process. At the airport, there is no need to print or present any physical documents. The Turkey Electronic Visa is stored electronically and linked to the passport in the Turkey Immigration system.

To complete the application, applicants must have a valid credit or debit card for payment purposes. Additionally, Bhutanese citizens are required to provide a valid email address to receive the Turkey e-Visa in their inbox. It is crucial that the information on the Turkey Visa matches the details on the passport entirely. In case of any discrepancies, a new e-Visa application must be submitted.

Turkish E-visa Policy For Bhutanese Citizens

For Bhutanese citizens, the departure date from Turkey should be within 30 days of their arrival. Regardless of the duration of their stay, they are required to obtain a Turkey Electronic Travel Authority (Turkey e-Visa) even for visits as short as one day. If Bhutanese citizens plan to stay in Turkey for a longer period, they should apply for the relevant visa based on their specific circumstances. It’s important to note that the Turkey e-Visa is valid only for tourism or business purposes. If you intend to study or work in Turkey, you must apply for a regular/traditional/sticker visa at the nearest Turkish embassy or consulate.

While the Turkey e-Visa is valid for a duration of 180 days, Bhutanese citizens are allowed to stay for a maximum of 30 days within that period. The Turkey e-Visa issued to Bhutanese citizens is for single-entry only, meaning it allows for one entry into Turkey.
